چکیده

The activity and surface antigenicity of az& on platelets from 27 normal subjects were found to vary significantly. A fourfold range of surface antigen correlates with a 20fold variation in the ability of nonactivated, washed platelets to adhere to type I collagen and a fivefold variation in the adhesion of platelets to type Ill collagen. These differences in surface receptor are reflected in significant variation in the lag time required for type I collagen-induced platelet aggregation in platelet-rich plasma. Among the same individuals, no difference was observed in surface levels or activities of two other platelet integrins, the fibronectin receptor a& and the fibrinogen receptor all&. In all cases studied, we observed complimentary differences in the incorporation of lZ6l into surface adl , in quantity of surface azBl antigens, and in adl collagen receptor activ-

Potatoes: Source of Laboratory Reagent for Human Platelets Research

Irish potatoes is rich in carbohydrate, with varied glucose levels. It is also a very good source of apyrase, an enzyme used for platelet storage. The aim of this study was to explore Irish potatoes as an easily available source for apyrase extraction and purification. Apyrase was extracted from 5 Kg of Irish potatoes. Platelets were derived from 5-10 ml of human whole blood and G6PD activity w...

Integrin Linked Kinase (X-ILK) Function during Embryonic Development and within Adult Tissues of Xenopus laevis

Integrin linked kinase (ILK) is a serine/threonine protein kinase implicated in the phosphatidylinositol 3’kinase (PI3’K) pathway. Integrin linked kinase has been investigated in different organisms such as mammalian systems (human, mice, rat), insects (Drosophila) and nematodes (Cenorhabditis elegans), however to date little data regarding ILK research on amphibians has been reported. In...

Synergic effects of Summer Savory extract and aspirin on human platelets function

Introduction: Cardiovascular disease is one of the most common diseases in the world. In this account, atherosclerosis is one of the main cause’s heart attacks. Coagulation activity of platelets plays an important role in atherosclerotic plaque formation, thrombosis formation and cardiovascular diseases. Aspirin is the most commonly drugs which used as anti-platelet function to prevent and trea...

Genetic variation responsible for mouse strain differences in integrin alpha 2 expression is associated with altered platelet responses to collagen.

As mouse models have become commonplace for studying hemostasis and thrombosis, we considered whether the mouse system had utility for assessing genetic alterations in platelet receptors. Platelets from 5 mouse strains (C57BL/6 [C57], FVB/N [FVB], BALB/c, C3H/He, and 129Sv) showed only minor differences in the expression of integrin alpha(IIb), integrin beta(3), glycoprotein (GP) Ib alpha, or G...

Norcantharidin, a clinical used chemotherapeutic agent, acts as a powerful inhibitor by interfering with fibrinogen–integrin αII bβ3 binding in human platelets

During platelet activation, fibrinogen binds to its specific platelet receptor, integrin αIIb β3 , thus completing the final common pathway for platelet aggregation. Norcantharidin (NCTD) is a promising anticancer agent in China from medicinal insect blister beetle. In this study, we provided the evidence to demonstrate NCTD (0.1-1.0 μM) possesses very powerful antiplatelet activity in human pl...
